Money Art

Art about money explores how we think about money.

Just as an artist's representation of a thing is not the thing itself, so the imagined effects or benefits of money are not money itself. Our thoughts about money reveal our drives for security, love, independence, strength or freedom from worry. Motivations regarding money – both explicit and subconscious – exert a strong influence on our goals, decisions, and actions – and therefore, the outcomes of our financial pursuits.

The DHR Art Collection is our pride and joy. We have been collecting thought-provoking art on the subject of money for more than 20 years, and just recently began to open the collection for public viewing.

We had two exhibitions of DHR Money Art in 2013, one at the Bellevue Museum of Art in Bellevue, Washington and the other in the Mills Building on Montgomery Street in San Francisco. Three artists represented in the DHR Collection – Stacy Lee Webber, Christopher Wilde and Ray Beldner – were featured recently in the Wall Street Journal's Money Magazine.

We share a few select pieces from our collection in the Gallery, with permission from the artists. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about the DHR Art Collection.
