Davis Riemer, Principal and Founder, directs investment strategy and all advisory services, oversees marketing and communications, and works with most of DHR’s clients. His 40+ years of professional experience includes financial planning, estate planning, business-entity planning, life and health insurance, and investment products. Davis began his career in 1966 at Connecticut General Life Insurance Co., where he developed expertise in estate planning and life insurance products. He went on to work in insurance and securities sales for Connecticut General, and then for several independent Broker/Dealers in the Bay Area, before starting his own company in 1987. That seedling has grown into the full service firm DHR Investment Counsel, Ltd. Davis grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and received his B.A. from Stanford University in History, with added emphasis in psychology and political science. Continuing study in psychology, history, political science, music, theatre, art and literature inform his work – as does the “OJT” experience of parenting and grand-parenting, which included years of coaching youth soccer and baseball, leading the PTA, and instruction in the Suzuki Music Method. Davis served as volunteer staff member and Board Member of the Charila Foundation Residential Treatment Center for Adolescent Girls and served the local, state and national organizations of the American Civil Liberties Union. Davis has worked with hundreds of California families and businesses, and draws upon that experience in advising every client.
Louise Rothman-Riemer, Principal, is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Trading. She contributes expertise in needs assessment and product knowledge of a broad spectrum of insurance contracts. Louise hails from Wausau, Wisconsin; she graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with B.S. degrees in both English and Theatre Arts. She then earned an M.A. in Improvisational Theatre from San Francisco State University where she worked with children in the Richmond and Fillmore districts. Louise spent many years in "household management and child nurturing" before returning to academia to earn a paralegal degree from St. Mary’s College. After working in law and insurance firms, she returned to self-employment in insurance services before joining DHR in 1987. Louise has helped many of our female clients increase their understanding of a wide variety of financial issues. Her personal interests include theatre, art, social justice and her growing family. Louise currently serves on the board of directors for the Rockridge Business Improvement District, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Oakland League of Women Voters.
Robin Rosario has been with DHR since 2002, managing operations and finance, after 15 years maintaining her own bookkeeping and accounting practice. Robin grew up in Los Angeles and moved to the Bay Area in 1979. As a child, her passion was studying dance, mainly jazz and ballet. She became interested in Chinese Medicine as a young adult, and began studying Taiji, Kung Fu and Qi Gong. Robin became a licensed acupuncturist in 1985, and although no longer practicing acupuncture, she continues to practice and teach Taiji and Qi Gong. Currently, Robin is studying to become a Life Coach and wants to work with women dealing with cancer diagnoses.
Shannon Stone brings a broad range of experience and expertise to DHR’s operations. She earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from University of Phoenix in Sacramento, then spent years in retail management operations.
