The Fine Art of Wealth Management TM

Security of Funds

Recent events in financial history recall the wise folktale advising us not to let foxes guard henhouses. When working with an investment professional, few single actions protect one’s money more than separating investment management from investment custody. DHR places all client funds in the custody of independent national firms, in accounts registered directly and only to the client.

Our primary choice for asset custody is Charles Schwab & Company. Schwab’s reports, which go directly to the investor (you), show all transactions, deposits, disbursements, positions and values every month. DHR orders trades at Schwab through a Limited Power of Attorney, authorized by our clients, which enables our management but strictly limits DHR’s authority over client funds.

In the selection of mutual funds and the companies who offer them, as well as other companies with which to invest client funds, DHR chooses only those firms with the highest levels of integrity. Due Diligence before starting and constant ongoing examinations of the firms allow us to maintain high levels of confidence in our choices. More information about these firms.

Charles Schwab & Company carries insurance through the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).

DHR’s Privacy Policy rigorously protects our clients’ privacy as well.
